Years of development. Months of testing. A global team across five countries pushing every single detail.

And now, the first production Bonnell 805 RX motorcycles are coming off the line.

Inside Line has followed the 805 RX through some of the most important stages of its development, from our first prototype shakedowns to testing with some of the most experienced riders in the sport.

For Episode 3, we traveled to Taiwan to see all of that work come together on the production floor.

This is the one we've been waiting for.

EPISODE 3 · THE WAIT IS OVER

FROM PROTOTYPE TO PRODUCTION.

Every production motorcycle begins long before the assembly line.

The 805 RX has gone through years of engineering, prototyping, testing, feedback, and refinement. We've pushed early bikes in the dirt, put them in the hands of professional riders, made changes, tested again, and continued refining the details.

But eventually, development has to become production.

In Taiwan, that transition is happening in real time.

Frames are becoming motorcycles. Components we've spent years developing are being assembled into complete bikes. Processes that existed in drawings, CAD files, prototypes, and test sessions are now being repeated on a production floor.

For the first time, these aren't development bikes.

They're production 805 RXs.

THE SUSPENSION THAT MAKES THE RX.

Before heading to the final assembly line, we stopped at Sirris, the team behind one of the defining components of the 805 RX: its suspension.

Sirris may be a relatively new name, but the experience behind it isn't. Sirris Co-Founder Graham Sills and his team bring decades of experience building some of the world's best race suspension.

That experience is built directly into the RX.

This isn't suspension designed around hitting a price point and leaving room for an upgrade later.

It's the upgrade.

In conventional motorcycle terms, think A-Kit suspension, the kind of top-level equipment racers traditionally spend serious money upgrading to after buying a bike.

On the 805 RX, that level of suspension comes standard.

Premium coatings. Tight tolerances. Extensive tunability. High-end internal components. It's a suspension package designed to match the performance of the rest of the motorcycle right out of the box.

"You no longer have to upgrade the power on these bikes. And you definitely don't have to upgrade the suspension on these bikes. This is the best of the best that you can get."
MATT WAUTERS · BONNELL FOUNDER & CEO

Seeing where that suspension is developed and assembled gives another perspective on what goes into the RX.

It's not simply a different specification of the 805.

Components like this are what make it the RX.

BUILT WITH INTENT.

Going into production doesn't mean the details matter less.

It means they matter more.

Every component has to fit the way it was designed. Every assembly process has to be repeatable. Every motorcycle coming off the line has to reflect the work that went into developing the original.

That means scrutinizing the details, from suspension and chassis components to controls, electronics, fit, finish, and final setup.

Production isn't simply pressing a button and watching finished motorcycles roll out. The team is inspecting components, verifying assembly, checking processes, and working through the details that separate a prototype that works from a motorcycle that can be built consistently at scale.

The things we've spent years refining now have to come together consistently, bike after bike.

Some of that work will never be visible to the rider.

That's the point.

By the time an 805 RX reaches its owner, all of those decisions should simply become part of how the motorcycle feels.

This is where engineering becomes manufacturing.

INSPECT. VERIFY. REPEAT.

A GLOBAL EFFORT.

The 805 RX didn't come together in one building.

It's the result of a global team working across five countries, bringing together engineering, design, testing, manufacturing, suppliers, and riders around one motorcycle.

Walking the production floor makes that collaboration tangible.

Drawings become components. Components become assemblies. Assemblies become motorcycles.

And behind every step are people checking, adjusting, discussing, and making sure the intent behind the 805 RX carries all the way through to the finished bike.

FIVE COUNTRIES, ONE MOTORCYCLE

THIS ONE FEELS DIFFERENT.

There are milestones you can mark on a development schedule.

And then there are the ones you feel.

Seeing the first 805 RX motorcycles being assembled is one of them.

For years, we've talked about what this motorcycle could become. We've ridden prototypes, broken things, changed things, listened to riders, worked through problems, and kept pushing.

Now we're standing on a production floor surrounded by them.

Not prototypes.

Not renderings.

Not another step toward production.

Production.

THE FIRST ONES ARE ON THEIR WAY.

Once assembly is complete, there's one more step.

The bikes have to leave the factory.

The first production 805 RX motorcycles are being packed up and sent out into the world.

FIRST 805 RX BIKES · ON THEIR WAY

It's a simple moment, but after everything it took to get here, seeing a crate with BONNELL across the side heading into a shipping container carries a little more weight.

After years of development, the first ones are officially on their way.

SEPTEMBER 1.

On September 1, the Bonnell 805 RX officially releases.

Inside Line has always been about showing what happens before the finished product reaches the rider. The testing. The conversations. The setbacks. The breakthroughs. And the people behind every decision along the way.

Episode 3 captures one of the biggest milestones in that journey yet.

The first bikes are built.

Production is underway.

Next stop: September 1.
